A randomised clinical assessment of foot pronation and its relationship to patellofemoral syndrome
BENNETT PJ
J BR PODIATR MED , 1993, p. 93-96 Doc n°: 62514 Localisation : Documentation IRR Descripteurs : DE55 - PATHOLOGIE GENOU, DE5 - GENOU The aim of this study is quantitatively to evaluate biomechanical foot function of patients with PFS. This study has shown that a significant difference exists in the maximum pronated position of the subtalar and midtarsal joints between affected and non-affected limbs ofpatients with PFS. This difference may be demonstrated during walking and running gait cyvles. The quantitative analysis confirms empirical knowledge that excessive foot pronation can be linked with patients suffering from PFS. It reinforces the need for prompt podiatric intervention.
