Pulmonary complications and respiratory failure are the main causes for the morbidity and mortality of patients with cystic fibrosis. Acute pulmonary emergencies of CF patients are hemoptysis and pneumothorax : complications of the mainly adult patients, which have to be treated by adult pulmonologists more frequently in the future, since the patients are getting older. The procedure for these two, in some cases life threatening emergencies are described in this article, based on the own experience and current literature.
