This study assesses the effect of beta blockers or calcium channel blockers on the utility of immediate exercise treadmill testing to risk-stratify patients presenting to the emergency department with chest pain. We examined a cohort of 975 patients who underwent immediate exercise treadmill testing, comparing the clinical outcome of patients taking 1 of these agents (study group) with those who were not (control group).
