Orthopedic technical management of the trunk in muscular dystropic patients.This article describes the necessity of keeping the patient able to walk as long as possible in order to avoid extreme loads on the trunk resulting from the sitting position in a whellchair. In addition trunk orthoses for different indications are presented. Finally the advantages of taking the plaster cast in a lying position of the patient using a two shell cast technique is pointed out.
