MCCARTHY DJ; REED T; ABELL N
J AM PODIATR MED ASSOC , 1986, vol. 76, n° 6, p. 311-319 Doc n°: 26702 Localisation : Documentation IRR Descripteurs : DE81 - GENERALITES - PIED The interphalangeal sesamoid bone of the hallux and its variants are frequently responsible for painful hyperkeratotic lesions plantar to the great toe. The options for surgical management of the problem are reviewed and the preferred operation is described. Additionally, a hitherto unidentified tendon, the flexor hallucis capsularis interphalangeus, is described in relationship to the ossicle. Its presence validates the term "sesamoid" in connection with the bone under study, since sesamoids, by definition, are developed within tendons. Additionally, a brief discussion of the anatomical characteristics of the ossicle is presented. Langue : ANGLAIS Identifiant basis : 1986001763 |
