Orthotics play an important role during the whole rehabilitation proram of paraplegics. An overview of the most often employed aids is presented and our own experience is reported. The most important prerequisites for success are a clear statement of indication and the goal envisaged, together with good teamwork between the orthotist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, patient and physician.
