Der Orbicularis-oculi-Reflex in der klinischen und experimentellen Neurologie
DENGLER R
FORTSCHR MED , 1985, vol. 103, n° 20, p. 556-558 Doc n°: 20919 Localisation : Documentation IRR Descripteurs : AA2 - NEUROPHYSIOLOGIE The orbicularis oculi reflex in clinical and experimental neurology. The trigemino-facial orbicularis oculi reflex (blink reflex) is widely used in the functional brain stem diagnosis. In addition, it is a useful experimental tool to study the connexions between higher cerebral systems and the brain stem. Reflex changes in disorders of the cerebral hemispheres and the basal ganglia indicate that the normal function of the trigeminal and facial brain stem centers requires facilitatory impulses from the above structures.
