Der Lokomat : eine angetriebene Geh-Orthese
COLOMBO G
MED ORTHOP TECHN , 2000, vol. 120, n° 6, p. 178-181 Doc n°: 99138 Localisation : Documentation IRR Descripteurs : DF243 - AIDES DE MARCHE, AE2 - PARAPLEGIE-TETRAPLEGIE The 'Lokomat' : a driven ambulatory orthosis. In recent years manually assisted treadmill training in combination with bodyweight support has proved to be a good gait therapy for patients with incomplete spinal cord injuries. In order to reduce the workload ofthe therapists and to prolongue the training sessions, a driven gait orthosis named Lokomat has been developed. With this orthosis, which is adjustable in size, it is possible to move the legs of gait-impaired patients for several minutes. First trials with incomplete paraplegic patients are very promising. It was possible to train different subjects with the lokomat to substantially prolongue the duration of the therapy, compared to manual training.
