Some researchers have examined impairments of the ipsilateral upper extremity after a stroke and have shown the stroke causes impairments in both upper extremities. There is minimal information regarding impairments of the ipsilateral lower extremity. The purpose of this review is to synthesize findings from those studies. The authors will provide information about physical impairments of the ipsilateral lower extremity after a stroke and discuss implications for rehabilitation.
