AM J CARDIOL , 2002, vol. 90, n° 8, p. 906+ Doc n°: 106988 Localisation : Documentation IRR Descripteurs : FA2 - EXPLORATION EXAMENS BILANS - COEUR Acute caffeine ingestion has been found to increase blood pressure and sympathetic activity in nonhabitual coffee drinkers; however, the effects. Of caffeine on parasympathetic nervous system activity have seldom been explored. After acute ingestion of caffeine in 10 normal subjects, we found blood pressures to be significantly increased, and measures of parasympathetic nervous system activity significantly decreased compared with measures after placebo ingestion.
