Urinary incontinence is described with specific reference to distinctions in the older man. An overview of the male urogenital anatomy and the functional pathophysiology of the lower urinary tract are described. Emphasis is placed on voiding dysfunction and incontinence as it relates to prostate disease, its surgical sequellae, and the effects of aging. Treatment focus is specific to behavioral methods to regain control, with particular emphasis on exercise prescription for pelvic floor strengthening.
